This scrumptious combination of sweet fig and truffle makes for great holiday party appetizer. It’s simple to make but carries an air of fancy. Using Truffle Zest and Truffle Honey gives the decadent truffle flavor without the high price of a fresh truffle. It can also make a great snack or dessert for any day without a gathering.

Ingredients
1 cup dried figs (diced small)
2 cups red wine
1 teaspoon thyme (minced)
½ cup brown sugar
12 ounces whipped cream cheese
-
2 tablespoons Truffle Zest
12 slices whole wheat bread or a baguette sliced
-
4 tablespoons Truffle Honey
3 tablespoons lemon zest
Directions
In a medium sauce pan combine the diced figs, red wine, thyme, and brown sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil on medium high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer until it has thickened and most of the liquid is gone. This could take about 30 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
Whip the Truffle Zest into the cream cheese until it is fully combined. Give it a taste and add more Truffle Zest if you would like a stronger flavor.
Toast the bread or baguette and then smear with the truffle cream cheese. Top the toast with the fig mixture. Drizzle with Truffle Honey and sprinkle with lemon zest. Serve and enjoy!
