In my experience, the blocks always produce and I am usually able to get several flushes. It is hard to keep mold from growing in the Shiitake, though - I have stopped purchasing this directly and only get it when it turns up in the variety pack.

Everything arrived on time as scheduled. Followed directiona sand made my own 'herbarium with a 'kids tent." 6 days later the shiitake (indoors) blew up with a plethora of fruits. At about the same time they oysters started popping front and back. I'd send photos but 'not allowed to cut and paste' and can't find the file. The Lions mane and Chestnuts have yet to pin. Good things take time :)

Store owner replied: Hi Victoria, Our mini farms are to be misted as needed. When you see the bag is dry, you can spray directly on the clear plastic bag on the inside. A few things to avoid is spraying directly on the block, and preventing excess water pooling. Excess pooling of water can cause blue/greenish mold, which negatively impacts the mushroom block. Hi , We were very excited to get this as a Father's day gift. The instructions, packaging, were all nice. The shitake also grew well even in the spring/summer heat; however, we may have waited too long and the mushroooms turned out sour. I would buy again but it's a bit pricey for a first round to be inedible. I purchased oyster blocks from the company a few decades ago and those grew wonderfully (but under someone else's care as they were also a gift).
This was a gift for my dad who loves foraging mushrooms. The delivery was prompt and the customer service was extremely responsive and helpful. A really nice experience overall. We’ll definitely be back for more!

These tinctures have become part of my daily routine. The quality is excellent, with a very flavorful profile. I usually take Chaga and Reishi sublingually; while, Cordyceps, Lion's Mane, and the Blended tincture mix really well into my morning coffee. Three out of four mushroom kits grew within 4 to 5 days. Wow, tasty shiitake mushrooms, and what does one do with lion mushrooms? The tree oyster mushrooms were so beautiful to look at that we harvested the first batch after they turned damp, we shall rotate the batch and see whether they make the second harvest. Wow, must have taken 10 days, and the pink oyster mushrooms are growing, what a surprise, I thought it may be too dry in the kit, being that it is close to a light for growing tomatoes and squash, we turned it away though and it grew. What does one do with pink oyster mushrooms? Beautiful to look at I am sending pics soon to my Mum and Dad. They'll have to see it to believe it. These culinary mushrooms delight the senses. Absolutely incredible growing experience. I requested Shiitake, Cinnamon Caps, Lion's Mane, and Pioppino in the notes at checkout, and it was a magnificent surprise that every single variety of mushrooms grew beautifully. I started the grow on 02/22/2026, and the Shiitake kept producing continuously, I haven't even done a second water dunk yet. The Pioppino followed, then the Lion's Mane, and finally the Cinnamon Caps. Each Mini Farm Grow Kit was super strong and healthy! The yield were impressively large, the quality was outstanding, and the taste was so flavorful! Watching each species fruit in sequence made the whole experience incredibly rewarding. Highly recommend for anyone looking to grow gourmet mushrooms!
