European Porcini Powder
Porcini is one of the grand powerhouses of the dried mushroom world. Its flavor is richly nutty, sweet, woodsy, and utterly unlike anything else. It tastes like the rainy woods in late fall. This European Porcini is imported directly from Italy, a region from which culinary purists claim that the only true Porcini may hail. We California mushroom lovers posit that Domestic and European porcini are equally delicious, though we find European to be slightly stronger, and Domestic to be lighter and sweeter.
Far West Fungi creates this line of mushroom powders by air-drying fresh mushrooms in our own commercial kitchen, and then grinding them into a fine powder. The result is a powerful mushroom seasoning, free from sodium, preservatives, or any other additive. It’s simple and pure: mushroom essence and nothing else.
