Every kit ships fully colonized from our farm. Pick one, pick a pair, or grow all four side by side.
Rich, savory, and meaty. The classic for stir-fries, broths, and roasting. A steady producer that rewards patience.
Delicate, shreds like crab, and browns beautifully in butter. The kit most people buy for a daily mushroom ritual.

Every kit ships fully colonized from our farm, so the hard part is already done. Here is what to expect.
Arrives colonized and ready. Cut the bag where the card shows you and set the kit on a counter out of direct sun.
A few sprays of water twice a day. That is the whole routine. Within about a week you will see the first pins.
Most kits are ready to cut in 10 to 14 days. Twist or cut the cluster at the base and cook it that night.
Keep misting. After a week or two of rest the kit fruits again, usually three to four harvests in all.
Most grow kit disappointment comes down to one thing: a block that was contaminated or under-colonized before it ever reached you. The Garrone family has cultivated specialty mushrooms for more than four decades, and every Mini-Farm is built on our own farm from pure cultures, spawn, and substrate, then guaranteed to fruit.
That is why so many of our growers came to us after another kit failed them, and stayed.
Every Mini-Farm will produce at least one harvest when cared for according to the instructions in the box.
For the fastest help, email us photos of your kit so we can see what is happening and give you specific advice. Often a small adjustment and a little more time gets a slow block producing.

Pins usually appear within 5 to 8 days of opening the kit, and most kits are ready to harvest in 10 to 14 days.
Plan on one to two pounds across three to four harvests. Let the kit rest a week or two between flushes and keep misting.
Yes. Every kit ships fully colonized, so the growing is already done. Your job is to open it, mist it, and keep it out of direct sun. No special equipment.
Kits are living and are best set up within 7 to 10 days of arrival. Order so it arrives close to the occasion, and tell the recipient to open the shipping box right away.
Email us a photo and we will troubleshoot with you. If it does not fruit after following the steps, we replace it. That is the first crop guarantee.

Everything arrived on time as scheduled. Followed directiona sand made my own 'herbarium with a 'kids tent." 6 days later the shiitake (indoors) blew up with a plethora of fruits. At about the same time they oysters started popping front and back. I'd send photos but 'not allowed to cut and paste' and can't find the file. The Lions mane and Chestnuts have yet to pin. Good things take time :)

These tinctures have become part of my daily routine. The quality is excellent, with a very flavorful profile. Three out of four mushroom kits grew within 4 to 5 days. Wow, tasty shiitake mushrooms, and what does one do with lion mushrooms? The tree oyster mushrooms were so beautiful to look at that we harvested the first batch after they turned damp, we shall rotate the batch and see whether they make the second harvest. Wow, must have taken 10 days, and the pink oyster mushrooms are growing, what a surprise, I thought it may be too dry in the kit, being that it is close to a light for growing tomatoes and squash, we turned it away though and it grew. What does one do with pink oyster mushrooms? Beautiful to look at I am sending pics soon to my Mum and Dad. They'll have to see it to believe it. These culinary mushrooms delight the senses. Absolutely incredible growing experience. I requested Shiitake, Cinnamon Caps, Lion's Mane, and Pioppino in the notes at checkout, and it was a magnificent surprise that every single variety of mushrooms grew beautifully. I started the grow on 02/22/2026, and the Shiitake kept producing continuously, I haven't even done a second water dunk yet. The Pioppino followed, then the Lion's Mane, and finally the Cinnamon Caps. Each Mini Farm Grow Kit was super strong and healthy! The yield were impressively large, the quality was outstanding, and the taste was so flavorful! Watching each species fruit in sequence made the whole experience incredibly rewarding. Highly recommend for anyone looking to grow gourmet mushrooms!
Fun mushroom growing kits to have at home for a unique experience where you can eat mushrooms straight from the source. I gifted 2 of the 4 kits to friends with a young one so it could be like a "science experiment" ... and I think he was entertained by it! I recommend watching the video to see how to set up the kits in addition to reading the provided instructions.
Purchased as a gift. Shiitake and oyster mushrooms grown in the Southern California desert took about a week to grow to maturity. The Lion's Mane grown in the Monterey Bay area is still growing after a couple of weeks, but hasn't grown past the bag yet. The gift recipient said that, compared with store bought Skiitake mushrooms, the home grown mushrooms were "much nicer and fresh".
Awesome kits! They took a little longer to start growing than stated in the instructions, but once they started they went crazy! We have already harvested and more are already coming in. Super happy with our delicious exotic mushrooms!
Not sure from the directions if and when I’m supposed to remove the plastic shrink wrap that enclosed the mushroom log - please advise

Store owner replied: Hi Elster, The plastic bag that the mushroom blocks are in, they are to stay in that bag but should be placed inside the clear plastic bag (with holes for oxygen flow) around the whole mini farm. My family and I are fascinated watching the mushrooms grow. They are beautiful and plentiful. The tree oyster is starting its second flush so I’m hopeful! Super fun!

Of the six kits I received, only the pink oyster has not produced anything yet. This was my first time with cinnamon caps, and they are delightful. In the past I have had a lot of trouble with mold growing on the shiitake, and I think the more closed system has helped with this. I wish there was some way to not receive the glass spray bottles - given the number of kits I receive, it seems wasteful.
