Far West Fungi Farm Tour
Reserve your spot on Eventbrite
Since 1982, the Garrone family has cultivated specialty mushrooms on our eight-acre farm at Moss Landing, on a bluff above the Pajaro River where the coastal fog rolls in off the Pacific. For one Sunday in September, the growing rooms open to visitors. Come spend the day with the people who grow your mushrooms, walk the farm where it happens, and share a mushroom lunch on the grass.
This is a working farm and a family one. Bring a picnic blanket, settle in among the beauty of the farm, and stay awhile.
The day includes
Guests select a tour time on arrival, with guided tours departing throughout the day. Between tours, the farm is yours to explore.
- Guided tours of the mushroom farm, departing throughout the day
- A mushroom-focused lunch, included with the Farm Tour + Lunch ticket
- Time with our cultivation team to answer your mushroom-growing questions
- An interactive cultivation and microscope table
- Fresh mushroom and Far West Fungi merchandise booths
- Mushroom jerky and tea tastings on arrival
- A medicinal mushroom talk by herbalist and mycologist Dr. Christopher Hobbs
The medicinal mushroom talk
Dr. Christopher Hobbs — a fourth-generation herbalist, licensed acupuncturist, and mycologist with decades in the field — joins us for a talk on medicinal mushrooms. It is a rare chance to hear the science and the history of functional fungi from one of the most respected voices in the field, on the farm where we grow many of the species he studies.

Know before you go
This is an active agricultural and food-production facility, so a few things to plan for. Expect uneven ground and farm surroundings, and wear closed, comfortable shoes. For food safety, anyone with hair past the shoulders is asked to keep it secured under a hat or provided hair net in the production areas. Lunch is included with the Farm Tour + Lunch ticket, and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and a picnic blanket either way. Full event terms, including the photography and safety acknowledgments, are on the Eventbrite listing at checkout.
