Dried Bay Leaf
Umbellularia californica
The California Bay Laurel is a native member of the evergreen family. Lesser known than the common and widely available Turkish Bay Leaves, the California Bay Leaf is stronger and spicier. They can be used in any dish where Bay Leaves are called for. Simmer them whole in soups, sauces, and stews, or use them when pickling or brining. Remove whole leaves before serving.
