Our Farmers' Markets
Farmers’ markets are an old fashion method used by farmers worldwide to sell their products directly to consumers. The trend rapidly declined with the opening of supermarkets yet the idea of obtaining fresh produce is making farmers’ markets popular once again. Farmers’ markets are especially unique for people who live in the San Francisco Bay Area. It gives them the opportunity to purchase fresh, organic produce directly from small family operated farms. Since cities and towns surrounding San Francisco are rich in agriculture, the Bay Area markets are exceptional at offering a variety of produce to consumers.
The Garrone family, in its fourth generation, has been selling at Bay Area farmers’ markets for over fifty years.This has been the backbone of the family business. The markets purpose is to educate and introduce new farmed products to our customers at a reasonable price that may not be readily available in other settings. We take pride in providing an array of mushrooms to the Bay Area and enlightening our customers on the various kinds available. Since farmers’ markets are not just a place to purchase food but to socialize, we like to take time to answer any questions and offer helpful hints and recipe ideas for cooking our mushrooms.
Now that traditional markets have seen a revival, especially in the past decade, we now have expanded our markets throughout San Francisco and the peninsula. With this expansion, we look forward to enjoying old and creating new relationships while continuing our life-long family tradition.
